2013-10-10

Recently, the Provincial Commission of Economy and Information Technology approved the establishment of the Shandong Province Rare Earth New Materials Industry Base in Linzi District of our city. This move will promote the development of our city's rare earth new materials industry towards characteristics, clusters, and high-end applications, and drive the overall improvement of the province's rare earth new materials industry level.

The rare earth industry in Linzi District started early, with a concentration of rare earth industry enterprises and new projects. It has unparalleled geographical advantages and industrial supporting advantages in developing high-end rare earth application industries. At present, the Linzi District Rare Earth New Materials Industrial Park, which covers an area of 1500 acres (Phase I), will focus on developing rare earth deep processing and high-end application industries, mainly focusing on rare earth luminescent materials, hydrogen storage materials, magnetic materials, catalytic materials, functional ceramics, and other planning.

According to the approval requirements, our city will further strengthen the construction of rare earth new material industry bases. One is to further improve the planning and design according to high standards and requirements, and strive to create a first-class industrial base in China. The second is to increase investment, improve infrastructure construction, and provide good guarantee conditions for the development of rare earth new materials. The third is to formulate and implement supportive policies, strengthen investment attraction, and accelerate the progress of project introduction and construction. Fourth, actively cooperate with domestic and foreign scientific research institutions, accelerate the construction of rare earth innovation platform, strengthen independent innovation and high-end product research and development, and give full play to the radiation and driving role of the base.
